Hong Kong

Good morning from Hong Kong. It is about 8:30am here on Monday morning, but it is 7:30pm on Sunday where you are back in the states. It is a 13 hour difference, and we are a day ahead.

Flight was not too bad over. Flying time from ATL to Chicago was 1.5 hours, and then from Chicago to Hong Kong was about 14.5 hours. I slept most of the way, so no jet lag here the other day.

Sen. John McCain was on board our flight. We saw him at baggage claim. First sighting of the trip. The second sighting? Well, read below...

What a great place. So much to see here, and so much history. Everyone has been very nice to us and they are very hospitable. But, the best welcome we got was from our friend, Michael Wong.

Michael is a famous movie star here in China. He has taken us in as
his guests and is showing us all around the island of Hong Kong. In fact, not only is he a celebrity, he is a very good pilot. So, he took Keith, Allan and I up in his helicopter and we toured the entire island from about 900 ft. Now, how cool is that? What a welcome to his city. We also have walked many streets and markets with Michael, and went to his studio to unwind last evening with a couple of guitars. He is not only a movie star in Asia, but he has his own big band and is a famous musician, too. Very cool to see all the people here want to take pictures and point to him as they recognize him when he walks by them downtown. Funny thing is then they look at us and think, "who the heck are they??"

Well, time to get to work. I hope all of you are well. I have a ton more pictures to take, but here is the start of it (click on the picture. It is a link to the web albums):
